Hope for a great LPGA in 2010 starting to look bleak

Nobody has bigger hopes for the LPGA in 2010 then I do. There are many positives going in to the season but after talking with a few insiders there seems to be a lot more uncertainty than the LPGA is letting on. I know, I know, we are all tired of the LPGA putting on a fake face. They never own up to problems until it's obvious and they can no longer deny them. Financial problem abound and it would not surprise me a bit if the LPGA has to get some help from somewhere to keep afloat for the entire season.
Now weather the new commissioner was made aware of the financial problems before signing on is a little detail that may show it's ugly head soon. It sounds to me like Mr. Whan was not given the entire financial story prior to taking his position and now it's become and issue among the administration. I feel sorry for the guy but it's typical LPGA to cover up their problems and keep them a secret. I think what we will see is Mr. Whan will step down prior to the season getting started or you will see some other high level LPGA execs resigning. We all know that the most important thing to the LPGA is saving face and no matter how bad things get, we will never get the true story from them leaving us all to read between the lines to know what the real story is.

My predictions for the 2010 LPGA season

This is the way I see the 2010 LPGA tour season unfolding. Pettersen is doing the work to be the best player in the world and will dominate this year. The Americans really will be quite lucky if they win 3 or 4 events this year. I think Vicky Hurst having a year under her belt is ready to bust out as a top American player. I do believe you will see the top players playing a few more events on the other tours simply because of the LPGA's lack of events and prize money.

Everyone was excited including me when the LPGA announced it's 2010 schedule. It's taken time to sink in but it's really actually a very poor schedule when you compare it to the PGA Tour. Take a look!The LPGA is playing less than half as many events as the PGA Tour. Consider this, there is approximatley 30 million in total prize money on the LPGA Tour!!! The PGA Tour play for 289 million in total prize money. So the PGA had twice the number of events and 9.75 times the prize money!!!!! Now tell me what the bad economy does to a high quality product!!!!!

I was looking at Paula Creamers stats from last season and one thing I found to be quite remarkable is that she is 3rd in driving accuracy. I have no idea how she does it it with that golf swing of hers. The way she moves her upper body and head around. She has an abbreviated backswing and a quick transition which really cut down on her power through the zone but I have no idea how she is able to control everything that is going on there. The only possible excuse for her accuracy is hours and hours of hard work. We have many American players that have way more talent than Paula Creamer but don't have her work ethic.

Paula Creamer is beloved by, well almost everyone and I just never understood why. I can see young girls liking the whole pink panther, pink ball thing but I just never understood the appeal that she generates as a media darling. If you have seen one Paula Creamer pre-tournament interview you have seen them all. "Broken Record" is a phrase that comes to mind. She can play! She will be in the top tier of golfers on the tour for the simple reason that she works very hard and gets the most out of a small amount of god given talent. She was first in GIR this past season and has had a very good scoring average of around 70.50 for years. She is 22nd in ppr. She needs more length off the tee which will translate into shorter approach shots and better birdie chances. If you look at her history, there are a couple items that stand out. The first being, a so so putter, the second, slow starter and the third an incredible amount of suspect injuries and illnesses. If Paula is not playing well in a tournament, I can tell you with out fail she will show up with something on her wrist or claim illness prior to the next round. It happens every time she is playing poorly.
I have never seen anyone who looked (facial expressions) like they were in such pain while playing golf. I know she is just focusing etc., but wow does she look almost constipated. I just can't see her ever being the number one player in the world or even player of the year but I do think she gets the most out of what she has and It would be nice to see her have a injury and sickness free season in 2010.

The LPGA just needs to open up!!!!!!!

IF the LPGA would simply open it's self up to the public and include them it would never have to worry about the economy or it's numbers. This cult like aura that the LPGA emits is ugly and I don't think they realize it. The "you know nothing about the LPGA" line is typical of it's administration and players. Well we don't because you won't let us. We want to be included. You want our money but not our input and look where that philosophy has got you. It's sink or swim time for you and and all you need to do is to include your fans in your decisions. It's a common marketing practice and it's called "give the fans what they want". It's not rocket science but rather elementary supply and demand. The fans want to have input and be included but when they try you to do anything more than watch golf you treat them like idiots, when all you have to do is listen!!!!!!!!

I watch the Golf Channel a lot, well I watch the informative parts of the Golf Channel a lot. Meaning the round tables and Golf Central and of course the tournament coverage. Aside from a select few the the people that the Golf Channel puts in front of the camera are less polished than say ESPN or the networks and I guess that's to be expected. One thing for sure though, they have a passion for their sport. With the exception of a few of the females they allow on who you can tell know little about golf, they almost to a man exude a passion for the game. I'm willing to overlook polished reporting for good passion and a great knowledge of the sport. So to the Golf Channel I say "great job and keep getting better"!

Top smile on the LPGA Tour!!!!!

You have to admit that there are some incredible smiles on the LPGA Tour these days. I have to say that of all of them though, that smile that Nicole Castrale
puts out is one for the ages. Jiya Shin's smile is cute and Ay Miyazato has a smile that could melt titanium but Nicole Castrale gets my vote for the very best smile on the LPGA Tour!!!!! I just hope she find her game after losing it completely in the last half of 09. It would be nice to see that smile a whole bunch more!

As much as I like to watch Michelle Wie do well and play well and as much as I appreciate her maturing into a fine young lady and very good player,I would hate to think that the LPGA is going to put all their eggs in the Wie basket. She is going to be very good maybe even great and I may be wrong about all of this but there is something that is lacking there. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is but something is amiss. I would hate to see the LPGA use Michelle Wie as the focal point and it's major marketing tool and then be hit with a Tiger Woods type situation. Now, I'm not saying Wie is going to do anything Tiger like off the course but It would not surprise me if there were some mental issues or burn out related things that could come about by huge demand. I think if you monitor her schedule and keep her in the 15 to 17 tournament area that your chances of something bad happening are greatly diminished. Allowing her to play every event and marketing her to death because she is a huge draw for the smaller events is a mistake and could prove costly. You have lot's of stars on this tour! Use them wisely and keep them fresh and you will reap the benefits long term!

I was talking to my brother in law on the phone this evening and the subject of Tiger came up. Now my brother in law is a golf nut and he has a 9 year old son who loves golf as well. He said he had discussed Tigers problems with his son and he told his son that "Tiger was bad to his wife". What a great lesson! He taught his son in one sentence that no matter how good you are or how much money you have, it means nothing if you treat your wife poorly.

Steroids would explain a lot of Tigers problems.

Weather Tiger Woods has been taking HGH or any other steroids is pure speculation at this point.It would however, certainly explain many of his problems. One being the temper we have seen on the golf course becoming more and more pronounced. Secondly, one can't deny he went from skinny weakling to big ripped guy al la Barry Bonds! Lastly, typically HGH is taken with testosterone or stacked and this drastically increase not only aggression but also sex drive and we obviously have proof of that. Now I'm not saying Tiger is guilty but it would not surprise me in the least given the obvious signs and the recent information that he was frequenting the same Dr. as many NFL players and Dara Torres who coincidentally practices outside the US. If I was a judge and based on a preponderance of the evidence I would have to say Mr. Woods is a cheater!!!!!!
The way we will know for sure, is when and if Tiger returns to golf and he his smaller or less muscular it will be a tell tale sign and if this does happen and according to the PGA he has been tested frequently then we will also know that the PGA was well aware of it. If he in fact was not tested, would indicate even more strongly that the PGA Tour was aware and didn't dare or want to know!

Is it not ironic how one individual could be so mentally focused and strong in one area and so vulnerable and weak in another? I find it fascinating that Tiger could almost will himself to win regularly but was not mentally capable to commit to his family and his wife. The sad thing is it's not rare for the elite athletes as we have seen from A-Rod, Clemens, Jordan, and Magic. I doubt we will ever be able to narrow it down to money or power or influence or a combination of all of these but as much as I want to say it's okay Tiger you messed up now make it right, apologize and move on, I just can't do it!!!!!! I can not for the life of me fathom how this guy could be such a terrible individual and I don't just mean unfaithful! We are finding out now that he's a total @#$hole even to his peers and contemporaries! So evidently it was a poorly kept secret that he was not liked among the insiders and they are enjoying watching him try to lie down in the very grave he spent so much time digging for himself.
I love to watch Tiger play golf and make those incredible runs on Sunday afternoons and then call my Father and discuss what happened! I'm not sure I can talk about Tigers golf game with the same exuberance as I did before (nothing to do with the rumors oh HGH or other PED's)because he's not really a man any longer but just a professional golfer! I don't relate to him on any personal level! A golfer with no credibility or ethics or for that matter morals is really not someone I care to nor am I able to relate to. So when I have Kids, and tell them stories about golf my stories about Tiger will be much like the stories I was told about Babe Ruth and Micky Mantle both were great players but failed to be good men and really contributed little to society except great statistics.

At the beginning of the Tiger Woods scandal I ripped all the main stream and golf media for being cowards and not covering it or at least not covering it in depth. The golf channel came around and is now doing a great job. I respect the way they are handling it and I even have gone there to read the different views of their writers. So Kudos to the Golf Channel!

I have been hearing very good things about the new LPGA commissioner, and hearing them from people who I count on to give accurate representations. This is very very good news. I'm sure that my teeny tiny little blog is making little difference if any but it sure seems like the things I had hoped and pushed for regarding the LPGA are moving in the right direction. I'm sure having two people with great work ethic and do or die attitudes is a great help and I am hopeful that the LPGA may keep Ms. Evans in some form so Mr. Whan can bounce ideas off of her. For right now though I am very happy although I would love to see these loose ends on the schedule tied up and I'm looking forward to the LPGA putting out a great product with amazing golf in 2010!!!!!!!!!

Political correctness has become a synonym for dishonesty and I can't imagine that was the way it was intended. Today however, it's just lying and I have an aversion to it. When did our world become so fragile that you can't tell the truth albeit with tact of course? You can't even say "housewife" for instance because you might hurt someones feelings. It's just gotten way out of hand and it's gotten in the way of the truth. Everyone of us has sat through golf interviews when the players all say the same thing rather than what is really on their minds and it gets to be one big long cliche. It's just ridiculous and I for one will be setting aside political correctness and going with the whole truth, again with the optimal level of tact. I just can't see how we can choose to live in a world where the truth is never spoken and peoples feelings are more important than being honest! So my new years resolution is to do away with political correctness in my own life and allow those around me to not have to read into or between any of the things I have to say!

It is amazing to me that after all the facts and proof of what Tiger Woods is, has become and has done, that there are people out there who are trying to justify his acts. I just read a Tweet that said "I think his spirit was rebelling" What is that? Come on people! A) He lied to his wife his kids and for that matter the world. B) He cheated on his wife and his kids! not once, not twice, but from day one of his marriage. C) He has yet to apologize! instead he had flunky who handles him write a statement on a website he has nothing to do with asking for privacy. D) The sleazeballs he cheated with are nasty and need disinfected! He had other people helping him cheat indicating it was not a spur of the moment thing but premeditated.
People, don't be idiots and tell me I can't relate to this because I'm not married! I know right from wrong. I know a cry for help when I see one and I know how children look up to their fathers. So don't embarrass yourselves by trying to justify any part of Tigers actions because if you do you are morally corrupt and your character is severely deficient! Don't try to tell me I'm being sanctimonious either. I have made many many mistakes but never lied about them, never tried to hide them, never enlisted people to help me make them and never ever would make them intentionally or to hurt someone I loved (wife and more importantly children). So don't even try ! Tiger hurt Golf!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Golf!!!!!!!!!

Tiger sent the 2009 golf season out with a bang and now it's old news and we can look forward to the 2010 LPGA season. I'm looking for 2010 to be another great year for the Asians and Europeans! It seem that with these two factions combined they seem to have the better golfers. I'm not saying they have better talent, I'm saying that their girls are and have been playing better golf.
I hope Michele Wie will have a good year and I am expecting Christy Kerr to contend on a regular basis. I'm not expecting much from Creamer or Gulbis but will never count out Pressel on the right course and Christina Kim can be a factor if and when she has a mind to be. It will be interesting to watch how Amanda Blumenhurst adapts she is one girl along with Suzann Petterson who can give the Asian contingent of Tseng, Shin and Miyazato a run and og course their is always Lorena.

Maybe my views on Tiger are harsh but they're honest.!!!!!!!!

I understand that cheating is commonplace and divorces are the norm these days but I for one just don't have a stomach for any man who cheats on his wife and kids. Trust me, no one is more aware of the fact that I have never been married (as so many of you insist on pointing out) than me. I just feel that if you are not prepared to make a commitment of utter devotion to your wife and eventual family then why get married?
I also understand that my life in no way, shape or form can be compared to Tigers but honesty and faithfulness and loyalty are the same no matter the situation. I just can not for the life of me stomach a man who cheats on his wife and kids. It's takes a selfish and self absorbed man to put his pleasure ahead of the trust and respect his family has invested in him! I believe that once a man cheats he will always cheat! I think after you surpass that first hurdle that from then on it must be much easier.

Here is my idea, it may seem harsh or far fetched but it may be an answer. multimillion dollar athletes should not marry until they are between 35 and 40. It seems to work well for Derrik Jeter and others and certainly would save a tremendous amount of Heart ache. I mean look Kobe, Shaq, MJ, Rodman, Armstrong, Nowitki, and Magic! It's pandemic and ugly!

Tiger has revealed that he will be taking some time off from "professional Golf" to get his act together. Perfectly understandable and really the only choice I can see.
If the revelations were true that Tiger was taking Vicodin then there are some questions that need to be looked into. It's been a good year since Tigers surgery. The need for a pain killer in the Vicodin class has long sense expired. Secondly, Vicodin would be on the banned substance list for PGA Tour Golfers. So if it is determined that Tiger has been taking Vicodin for some time then Doug Barron should be all over this.
Mike and Mike in the morning were discussing weather Tim Finchem should suspend Tiger for his so called "transgressions" for conduct detrimental to the Tour. I guess he won't need to but I have to believe that Finchem strongly urged Tiger to take sometime off! It would certainly keep him from being the bad guy! The rumors about a love child and naked pics seem to be getting more and more press and Tigers counsel seems to be trying to head off all potential threats before they get much print.
Tiger is currently staying at his other Isleworth home just around the corner from his offical residence. While Elin and family and the children are in their normal place. It appears to me that Elin has some serious backbone and I just hope she maintains it!

The recent truths about Tiger Woods given by his compatriots and fellow golfers is eye opening and alarming! Evidently, the players were all aware Tiger was a fake, lying, scumbag and if the players knew it then Nike, ATT, Gillett and the rest knew it! So what does that say about the sponsors today. It tells me, that sales and revenue outweigh everything else! They knew Tiger was a dirtball and still marketed the heck out of him and evidently even facilitated his activities to increase sales until he got caught. It' a sick perverse dishonest world we live in people and reading between the lines is the only way to survive!

It's looking like it's going to be an interesting 2010 LPGA season. You a have a great class of rookies coming in that will help enhance the quality of competition and elevate play. You have a new Commissioner who I believe, if not shackled by the IMG contract could make sweeping positive changes. You have new "status rules" that will somewhat weed out the poorer players and allow more of the better players to enter the full field events. Finally you have a great marketing man on the Board of Directors and one who will settle for whats been the status quo lately.
One concern is the amount of scheduled but not finalized events on the Tour's 2010 schedule. If one or two or all of those events fail to materialize it could turn in to a very big deal and create a negative snowball effect that could linger over a few seasons. So it's my hope they can lock those events in ASAP and solidify the schedule.

I am anticipating being in Thailand for the opening event. I have been there a few times with the World Health Organization while in med School and am looking forward to the Golf and the vacation. So 2010 will be, if nothing else a interesting year to observe the LPGA. The golf will be great and better than ever but how the Tour is handled and marketed and in essence delivered to the public will be the something to keep your eye on. Last but not least,Let's get a TV Contract. These girls can play!!!!!! Let's let everyone see it.

In 2007, under Carolyn Bivens the LPGA had 80 million dollars in revenue and a operating profit of some $817,000 and Bivens was paid $522,000. So do you know what the LPGA Board did with some of that profit. They gave Bivens a $302,000 bonus!!!!!!!!!!Almost half their profit. Now someone tell me that Leslie Gries has a clue about what she is doing!!!!!! I dare you!!!!!!!

Nicole Hage, Who I have been quite hard on this season, put together an amazing round of golf today under incredible pressure to keep her card! She started on the bubble right at number 20. A bad round would knock her out and a mediocre round would make her sweat!!!!!! She went low and blistered a 68 second only to Julieta Granda who shot an incredible 67. I was impressed by both these girls but Hage really earned my respect today.

Tiger Woods posted a statement on his web site today www.tigerwoods.com that was generic and addressed nothing except for denying that his wife was upset and smashed the windows out of his car and scratched his face. I explained how he expected privacy from people and people were exaggerating his acts.

Well Tiger, Do you know how to keep people from talking about you, from telling stories exaggerated or not? I'll tell you. You be the person your supposed to be. Then people can't talk about you!!!!!!

When you set your goals to be the best golfer ever didn't it occur to you that if you step out of line people would call you on it? Don't you think when you cheat on a pregnant wife that people are going to find out. Don't you think when you make statements calling the people who know the truth idiots that that is only going to fuel the fire? Don't condemn the very people who have supported you by lying to them yet again. It's the age of the internet, cellphones and digital cameras!!!!You can hide the truth Tiger! If any of the TMZ or Enquirer reports would have been false or off base Tiger certainly would have taken or will take legal action. I doubt very much if this will happen because it looks like they hit the nail on the head squarely and Tiger has no options. The annual LPGA qualifying school starts tomorrow and it's not for the feint of hart. 106 players will play 90 holes in five days and the top twenty will get category 11 status which gets them into pretty much any full field event. Now it's a great opportunity for the 57 players from the DFT (Duramed Futures Tour) and a very pressure packed situation for those returning to q-school like Jeehae Lee, Erica Blasberg and Nicole Hage all of whom really just took up space and tournament spots that other better players could have used this past season.

Amanda Blumenhurst seems to be the favorite going in having been the medalist in the first stage and also Tiffany Joh who was the top finisher in the DFT qualifying school. Dave Andrews a fellow Harvard grad will be the caddy for Malinda Johnson for the first few days and I would like to wish them both the very best of luck.

I think you will see the likes of Erica Blasberg and Dorothy Delassin, Nicole Hage, and especially Jeehae Lee lose their playing privileges having not done their work and taken for granted the opportunity they were given. It' a shame when this happens but some players are capable of adjusting to tour life and are driven and other content just to be there and that's the difference between the good player and this group of girls.

Hundreds of you wrote in and expressed your concern that my blogs about Tiger were premature and even some said they were just plain untrue. It's understandable and I for one wish my blogs would have been based on speculation and hear say and just wrong, because, I like most of you loved to watch Tiger and respected him both as an athlete, man, husband and father.

My blogs, as you can see according to what we now know were not speculation or lies or even premature but instead they were spot on. We now know Tigers wife cause his injuries! We know that she chased him from the house and broke both the windows in the back of his 2009 Cadillac SUV scaring him and causing him to drive into the hydrant and the tree. We know he was having an affair and that he and his wife were fighting about it and this is what caused the the incident in the first place. We know he has refused to talk with police three times and that he has hired Mark NeJame the famous criminal defense attorney to handle the incident and we also know that the Florida Highway Patrol has turned the case over to investigators who are looking into the domestic violence issue as well as obtaining a search warrant.

Most, if not all the major media outlets had or have had this information prior to my blogs and were just not able for various reasons to print or air it and the fact that you read it here first does not make it speculation. If I didn't know the information was accurate I wouldn't write it here so there is any of you who have facts that can prove otherwise I would love to see them and would certainly make any corrections needed but I think you will find that all the information here is correct and factual based on what's been reported!

It's always hard when someone you respected and admired turns out to be human or less than! Over the past 72 hours I have been so happy and so blessed to be with my family and enjoy every minute of their company and then I would get on online only to find out that best player in the greatest game is a great big scumbag.

First, when the Enquirer broke the affair story it seemed like a joke! Then I thought about it and realized that Tiger and Nike are way to big for the Enquirer to be playing with so there must be quite a bit of truth to this. I decided to wait till more reports came in and then the accident happened. The police, trying to cover it up and protect Tiger when anyone with any reasonable type of mental capacity was able to determine at least what happened for the most part.

You just don't get facial laceration while driving a Cadillac Escalade by running over a hydrant and a tiny tree at the end of you driveway when your going slow. It's quite obvious his wife smashed the back window with a golf club and caused him to go off the road. If you want to believe something else then be my guest but it's openly obvious.

The only thing I can say in Tigers defense is that he didn't hit her or it appears that he is not a wife beater at least. He is however a cheater and therefore a scumbag.

The mainstream media and the golf media won't even touch this or they will try to cover it up but they have no choice. Tiger being a scumbag hurts them in the wallet as it does his sponsors and the game off golf. I guess we just thought Tiger was the man who had it all and when you find out he is a troubled individual it surprises us.

So Tiger may win more majors than Jack and Arnie but they both beat Tiger in the biggest major of all, LIFE!

According to reports Rachel Uchitel, according to a very good friend of hers, claims to be having an affair with Tiger. She evidently has seen the text messages etc. says the two are in love etc.

It sound like the FHP are not going to be honest in it's reporting and from the pieces of all the reports this is what I gather happened.

Ellen read the found out about the affair and confronted Tiger and he evidently tried to leave the house at 2:25 am. She chased him smashed the back window of his Escalade with a golf club causing him to hit a hydrant and a tree. Now everyone knows how big and Escalade is and how fast you would have to be going to hurt your face in an accident. One can only assume that Tigers wounds were related to a domestic squabble. Hence the police saying charges may be filed but no mention on who, or what kind of charges.

Don't you hate it when public agencies just lie out right to the very people who pay their salaries!

I guess you can have everything and still have nothing!

The 2009 LPGA season is complete and if you breakdown the results you will see that the LPGA Tour belongs to Asia and American is just kind enough to be the middle man and handle all the legwork for Asia's best golfers.

Of the 28 LPGA Tournaments

13 were won by Asian born Players

6 by European born Players

5 by American Players

3 by Mexican Players

1 by Australian Players

So if you consider this statistic it's clear that Asia is producing the very best golfers in the womens game. So my advice again is for the LPGA to embrace it. It's not going away. If history have proven one thing to you by now it should be that Golf is recession proof. If you continue to market your Tour as fashion and beauty and a bit of golf you will always be second rate. Market golf, the game, the excellence required to play the game, the integrity of the game and the greatness of the game. Blond and beautiful is fine if your fan base is into motorcycles or NASCAR! Fashion is fine if your selling clothes but not golf. Golf is where your bread and butter is and it makes no difference who hits the great shots. Golf fans love good golf. Please! Improve the quality of the golf! Then market it to the correct demographic and selectively. Make the LPGA a place where you have to be good to play! Where the competition is fierce! Where you have to be good week in and week out to be able to continue to compete and I guarantee that you will see results.

Great Finish at LPGA Tour Championship

Anna Norqvist played phenomenal golf today and won the Tour Championship and it got overshadowed by the player of the year race. She just took that tournament away from everyone and was impressive down the stretch. It was certainly fun to watch.
If I'm not mistaken none or maybe one of the top ten players came from the bad part of the draw meaning those who had to tee off late on Thursday and just got completely batter by the myriad of misfortunes that the Tournament forced them to deal with. I am glad however that the player of the year race was played under the same conditions throughout the event! It would have been sad if one of the players got the unfair advantage of playing in the bad half of the draw. It was a great finish and I feel so sorry for the players and the fans that were given such a raw deal by the very organization they support.

Interesting observations from the Tour Championship

I find it interesting that the LPGA say's 1.4" of rain fell on the course from Friday night till Sunday morning. The weather stations and National weather service indicate less than half of that amount.

Is it just me or has any one else noticed that when one popular LPGA golfer is playing well, everything is fine but the minute she is not playing well she is either sick or injured or both. I looked back at this and found that the history on this is uncanny and chronic. (hint is pink)

I have to say if Reilley Rankin is having trouble finding a sponsor then I have to believe with so many undeserving players out there that this could turn pandemic for the less accomplished players and journeyman with the exception being rookies.

Don't you find it hard not to pull for Jiyai Shin? She has something special about her and at the same time I certainly respect Lorena's game but have never been a fan.

Imagine if Heather Bowie Young were a good or even average putter!

Which is worse, golfing on a bad ankle or storming the field after a Stanford victory with one. As much as I hate to believe it, I contend premeditation.

NOTICE TO LPGA: When you ask the world to watch and you fail to deliver, you lose credibility. When you have zero credibility to begin with, and you ask the world to watch and you blow it, you lose fans and sponsors! When you have no financial foundation to stand on and you lose Sponsors and fans then you go Bankrupt.

Just something to think about.!!! Your back is against the proverbial wall and your not performing! You can not expect the sponsors to honor their contracts if you can not live up to yours.

As of right this moment, some of the players have not been on the golf course for 2 1/2 days nor have some even started the second round. You didn't have the people or the resources to have this tournament! If you had, the course could have been managed and you would have been fine. Poor planning and even worse execution and decision making has turned the much hyped "Tour Championship" in to a laughable situation and there is nobody to blame except your staff. That should tell everyone what kind of people you have and show them exactly how inefficient you
are and clearly demonstrates your lack of ability to overcome adversity.
You may say I am being mean, but ask yourself to think of one, just one tournament that has been run so poorly in the entire history of golf. The answer is, that there has never been a more moronic display of ineptness in golf than what we are seeing from you right now!!!!!!!!!!!

If your having an elite LPGA event and you don't have the capability to deal with a 1/2 inch of rain. You don't deserve to have a tournament in the first place. The LPGA should be ashamed of themselves for not being staffed well enough nor having the people present to make a course playable after a mere 1/2 inch of rain. Every single person who payed for hotel rooms, Every single fan every single vendor should be fully reimbursed for the cost of trying to support the LPGA only to be kicked in the gut because the LPGA obviously has no idea what it's doing or simply can't do it at all.
If I were ROLEX I would demand my sponsorship money be returned in full! I have no doubt that in the sponsorship contract there is a negligence clause that would certainly be applicable under the circumstances. I feel sorry for the players! I feel sorry for the many sponsors of the players, the fans, the merchants in and around the Tournament. THE LPGA HAS STOLEN FROM ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!! by showing complete ineptitude and just terrible judgment and the inability to deal with adversity. I have lost all confidence in the leadership of the LPGA and it's lack of honesty, integrity, and ability! There was no reason for this! The obviously were not prepared to deal with this or they simply don't have the finances to do it. Either way the LPGA TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP IS A DISASTER! They even put pictures of it raining at the Houstonian (which itis not raining) to try and smooth over their plight and decision to forgo play today even while playing lift, clean and place.

LPGA turning Tour Championship into circus!!!!!!!!!!!!

The LPGA has again dropped the ball with respect to the Tour Championship. The three reports I got this morning were that the course is wet but playable and yet no one is playing! Your playing Lift, Clean and Place for god sakes how can you not be playing???? This is typical of the LPGA they just can't deal with adversity with any kind of professionalism. This is not a hard situation! You either play or you don't play and if you don't play the event becomes a 54 hole, one cut event.

I know there are all kinds of things to consider when you have weather, fans etc etc etc. The LPGA has been holding tournaments for decades. If you look back I'm sure there is another tournament that saw these very same circumstances. The idea is to learn from the past. Employ intelligent and decisive people and move on. This is a cluster @#$% and the LPGA again drops the ball. I have no Idea how the Players have any faith in their leadership because time and time again they prove how absolutley inept they really are.

Reilley Rankin, LongShot but my sentimental favorite!!!!!!!!

It's been a long time since Reilley has been in real contention. She plays a good round here and there but seldom does she put three of four good ones together and currently sits at #100 on the money list. Does anyone remember the terrible accident she had I believe in the late 90's. She broke her back in three places while at the time was playing for Georgia. She then came back in 2001 and lead them to the National Championship.

Not only is she absolutely adorable she has heart and I also heard Dottie Pepper say something about a recent illness to her mother although I don't and can't seem to find the details. Regardless, I would love Ms. Rankin to play some good golf and be able to walk away from this with her first win. If they are going to have a full field event for the Tour Championship there is no golfer outside the top 20 I would rather see get a win than this girl, who has the heart of a champion. She has been a marginal to good player since she's been on the tour and played some great golf in 2004. A win is A win however, and I for one would love to see it.

Jeehae Lee the LPGA's traveling 9 handicapper played a great opening round in an afternoon which saw some very good golfers give away strokes to a tough wind! She played a very commendable round and obviously has put in some time and I hope she can follow it up with another great round and make the first cut. The problem is it's looking like a rain out tomorrow and her chances might get rained away if the tournament is shortend to a 54 hole event.

Tony Ponturo, by all indications is a wonderful addition to the LPGA Board of Directors that needs an infusion of aggressiveness and action. Nobody can market like a Beer Company!!!!!!! I'm sure he will infuse an otherwise lazy and puppet like board into actually doing something positive for the good of the game and it's players and failure for Tony as has been proven is not an option.

Leslie Greis on the other hand has nothing to offer to anyone especially a poor performing board that should be completely overhauled with people who will take action and move the LPGA in a positive direction instead of using their seat as a random source of disposable income. She has a pretentiousness about her! She has been an independent director since 2007 and really added nothing of significance to the LPGA. She was on the finance committee and look where that go you!!!!!! She was present and quiet during the Bivens catastrophe and look where that got you. She is a fellow Harvard grad and I hate to speak in a negative tone about her but, Come on people, what in gods name could you be thinking! Common sense would tell you she has done nothing to help the LPGA and will not in the future!

Michelle Ellis is a wonderful person and has the type of personality that makes the people around her feel comfortable. She has been dealing with private issues most of this season and I think that the players did not want to pull the rug out from under her by electing a new president, but girls I have to tell you, This is the most crucial time in the life of the LPGA. It's sink or swim and to carry the same president into this new adjustment period that could not be present during the change over is really not a good idea. Michele can do the job, of that there is no question but new blood now is better and all the old and negative issues need to be replaced with sound strategy and positive ideas. You can't keep they same people and expect things to change is my point. People don't change! New ideas and a new approach is what you needed and you failed to see that. A new commissioner is great but you needed to have people who are on board with the program and not content to leave things progress slowly without change!

Jeehae Lee, Ms. +9 handicap and currently #156 on the LPGA money list is in the Tour Championship! Just never mind that she only made one cut all year and finished 22 shots off the pace. Never mind that she has earned a whopping $3,989 dollars total this year with her one made cut. Never mind that she finished her one made cut in a tie for 57. Never mind that she has never finished a tournament under par. She is playing!!!!!!! Just another example of the LPGA not caring about it's quality of product when by the rules there are 36 women ahead of LEE who I can not believe did not put themselves on the alternates list.

She is a truly beautiful girl and very intelligent but she has not earned anything this year and like many others has no business in this event. It will be interesting to see what kind of work she has put in since she has only played a couple times in the last 3-4 months. One would think she would have had plenty of time to work on her game especially when she is staring down the final stage of Q-School. Jeehae Lee, missing the cut has been the safest wager in sports all season! I hope it changes and the LPGA should be ashamed of themselves for even letting her play! There are some great players sitting at home this week who could add to the quality of the field and your answer is Jeehae (9 handicap) Lee!!!!!!!

Picks for LPGA Tour Championship

It's the final week of the LPGA season. Like all the players and everyone else concerned with the LPGA, I too am just happy the year is almost over and hope that the tenure of Mr. Whan will see prosperity and growth in the sport I get so much enjoyment from. The new Commissioner has all the makings of a good fit for the job I just hope he is given the support that has been lacking for so very long.Namely from a terrible Board of Directors and their lackluster do nothing approach.

Ok, the seasons final event has really only one subplot and that is the player of the year race between Shin and Ochoa. It really is interesting when you consider that for Shin it's been a great year by anyone's standards except for Ochoa's. Ochoa has been criticized for having a poor year compared with her past achievements and it's kind of sad to see that the only person other than Shin who has a legit shot at being player of the year, is looked at negatively while Shin has been praised for a tremendous year.
I am looking forward to the duel myself! I believe that Shin is 8 points ahead of Ochoa. These to wonderful players could make it very special if they were in the same pairing on Sunday and among the leaders.

The LPGA announced it's 2010 schedule which includes 24 events in 10 countries and seems to be quite nicely put together. The only real problems I see are the Wegman's LPGA Championship and failure to spend enough time in Asia, where if your looking ahead most of your best sponsorship opportunities will be.

The Problem with Wegmans hosting the LPGA at Locust Hill is it will always be a journeyman event. I have attended several times and most recently as a guest of V-Tech this past year. I'm sure Wegmans will do everything first class as only Danny Wegman does and am glad he is able to keep a tournament in the Southern Tier area since the Corning Classic has faltered. It's the Course, Locust Hill has absolutely no business hosting a Major event. They don't even hold elite amateur events there because it's really not a competitive course and there is little you can do to it to make it so. I for one hate to see 20 under par in a major championship with the cut being -3. I think the Majors should be a test to determine the best golfer under the toughest conditions and Locust Hill can not provide that. So the LPGA championship hosted by Wegmans will be a putting contest!Oak Hill is 20 minutes away from Locust hill and a world class site. Just something to think about.

The rest of the schedule looks pretty solid. It look's geographically demanding for the players as far as travel on consecutive weeks but I'm happy with the number of events and have to give Marty Evans credit for keeping the ship afloat in her interim as Commish.

Lets dissect the problems of the LPGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's take a look at the problems the LPGA has and what the New Commissioner has to overcome to get the Tour back on track and started in the right direction.

Problem one. Loss of sponsorships This is by far the most obvious, and there are many reasons for it! The first being the almost criminal activity of Carolyn Bivens in dealing with the sponsors. Secondly, for a sponsor to plunk down that amount, in this economic climate, there has to be some benefit for them. At this time the LPGA has no prestige, no integrity, and no fan generating power. Third, the players themselves aside from a very select few are not even ingratiating to fans off the course, except on camera. So the great companies want nothing to do with the LPGA players nor the tour.

Problem two. The LPGA is hurting financially. This week is an obvious example. The tour Championship should be a reward to the very best players for playing great golf! After all this is what the LPGA is supposed to be about. Instead the LPGA is making it an ugly money grubbing full field event(to maximize revenue from the pro-am). I find this disgusting and so should the top players but I imagine at this point and time they are just glad to have an event.

Problem Three. The LPGA Board of directors is collectively incompetent and does nothing except what they are told to do. Look what Bivens did to the tour right under their collective noses. Until you get solid oversight from people who care and are not just on the Board to say they are on the Board then the LPGA will never prosper.

Problem Four. Failure to embrace the Asian Golfers and make them as important to the tour off the course as on has hurt tremendously. Jiyai Shin should be a household name to golf fans now!!!!! She has everything including a respect for the game that anyone could want in a role model for their child.

Problem Five. Your players have no idea about the history of the game the integrity of the game and why it needs to be maintained nor do they understand why golf is different than sports that are driven by ticket sales rather than sponsors. They don't get the fact that on or off the course they represent the LPGA. They think once they take their spikes off that they are off duty. Well to be a professional and have the respect of a professional you need to always be professional.

Problem six. The quality of golf is poor. There is a huge gap between the top middle and poorer players on the tour. This has caused the LPGA to be dishonest in it's course preparation and in posting yardages etc., in an attempt to make it appear to fans that the players are better and hitting the ball farther than they really are. If the LPGA does not care about it's integrity nor the integrity of the game then why would anyone want to be involved with them.

Problem Seven. No TV exposure. few except the for the US. Open and the Kraft and maybe the British Open get any live coverage at all and most of the events you get 90 minutes on the Golf Channel, often tape delayed and after you already no what happened. What sponsor in their right mind would want to be involved in this. In turn what TV network would want to be involved with an organization like the LPGA that has lost it's ethics and it's integrity and is moving towards golf in bikini's

I appreciate your in put and arguments but if you want to argue be prepared with facts.

It seems that several of the LPGA players and office people have a problem with my take on the Tour Championship coming up this week in Houston. Well let me give you some facts about your so called Tour Championship.

1. There are only 10-12 players on your entire tour who have a remote chance of winning.

2. Your bringing in a full field wrought with bad players to make money off the pro-ams. When it should be a reward for only the top players.

3. It's really not a Tour Championship at all but rather just another over hyped tour event. The Samsung or The Lorena Ochoa events were far superior than this Tour Championship and not hinged on money making pro-am schemes

4. Eric Blasberg is in the field for crying out loud! What kind of reward is being in the Tour Championship if Erica Blasberg is in the field! This girl couldn't place in the top 20 if 100 players withdrew but she can swear and drink like a truck driver whose twitter account needs a MA rating!

5. The LPGA is in trouble!!! Be honest with people fans and sponsors and you will get the help you need but hiding behind your inept leadership and Board are not going to improve your standing. Keep treating your fans like idiots and see how well it works for you.

I should not have singled out Erica Blasberg, who was a great college player but can't seem to be able to play the game anymore. There are many of these girls who are lacking in any kind of social grace which is evident if you follow them on twitter. Jane Park, Christina Kim, Nicole Hage, Paige Mackenzie just don't get it. They can't seem to act like ladies or professionals except in front a TV camera. They are young but there is a reason they don't get the big name sponsors and that reason is they are time bombs who will blow up at anytime and make complete fools of themselves the tour and the sponsors.

I'm pleading with the LPGA Leadership!!! Get you act together. Embrace your fans. Get ideas from them (they know better than you what they like). Control your players! Don't let a few out of control immature types ruin your progress. Do the right thing and most of all turn over a new leaf and be honest with people. Your fans are not stupid so don't treat them like they are.

She did it!!!!!! Nobody can take this away from her. I was the toughest field the LPGA can put up and she won it! It has to be a huge relief and I for one am happy for her and hope she can fulfill the expectations she has for herself and not worry about the ones everyone else has for her. I was proven wrong all kinds of ways this week! Paula Creamer and Christie Kerr Played tough even while in contention. The Americans came to play this week and I'm not sure why we haven't seen it week in and week out like we do on the men's tour especially since the LPGA tour is only about 20-30 players deep.

I for once am very glad to have been wrong about my predictions for this event and hope we can see great strides taken in womens golf and the the LPGA in general in 2010. I love this game! I know I'm very critical and often rough on the girls but to get the LPGA where it has the potential to go and to get back the respect and fanbase it has lost it will take all the players and administration to work together.

Ok now Wie made a few bad decisions coming down the stretch and nobody could take advantage which I was expecting Shin and Tseng both to just jump on their chances but it never happened. It was a great tournament to watch and my only hope is that soon we will be able to see much more of the LPGA on TV.

Hey yesterday I incorrectly stated that Uribe was Mexican when in fact she is Colombian (thank you to the reader who corrected me). I apologize for that mistake but stick to my disbelief that she was given an obviously advantageous ruling that can not be found in the rules of golf.

Ok, Creamer, Kerr and Wie in the top 5 going into the final round!!!!! How long have we waited for this? I predict that cCeamer and Kerr will falter! I hope I'm wrong but neither has proven they can play while in contention in a final round of late. Wie is the one I can't pinpoint. I hope it's her time but I just can't see any of them getting past Shin and Tseng who you know, are both going low tomorrow. It would be great to see a an American win this event but I think the smart money is on Shin and Tseng with Wie being a wildcard.

I'm not sure if any of you know who Tim Vickers is but he works for the David Ledbetter Golf Academy and also did some caddy work for Michele Wie. He was or is currently the very beautiful and intelligent Jeehae Lee. Now I often mention Jeehae Lee in this blog because she is not a very good golfer and is a fine example of the way the LPGA allows poorer player to play in tournaments ahead of much better players.

Well Vickers, in his defense, tries to defend his girlfriend and leaves me little notes and tweets about refuting things I have mentioned etc. The problem is Tim is just not a very bright guy and really has no idea what he is talking about so if I miss a punctuation mark here or misspell a word there it's all he has to complain about and he jumps on it. I give him credit for trying and laugh at him regularly when I know he spent more time writing me one little message and making sure he has done it correctly, than anyone with a real job and real life would actually have time to do. So here is to you Tim!! When we meet I hope we can argue over a tall pint of Guinness. By the way who is Cooper Fenton? Oh and Christina you misused your attempt at Latin!

Michele Wie is sitting 3 back at -8 and tied for second place. This is a positive for her. Getting interviewed however, is a negative. You would think that as much press and as many interviews as this girl has done that she would acquire some kind of presence but it's not happening. I know she is intelligent but she certainly comes off like and uneducated gas station employee when in front of the camera. Nike or the LPGA or someone needs to spend sometime with her making her interview skills at least presentable. She must have said "you Know" 4 times per sentence and at least 80 times during a short interview. I know they just cringe in the Stanford administrative building when Wie is getting inteviewed. If that is any indication of how good the Stanford education is than I tell anyone I know to keep their kids away from there.

Did anyone see when creamer and Uribe played the 18th hole and Uribe hit a terrible shot that ended up on the down slope into the bunker was stopped from rolling in the bunker by the rough. They let her move it an place on the fringe and be putting. There was no sprinkler head there and nothing the rules would allow for a move like that but she is Mexican and playing at home and it was so ridiculous. Is it no wonder we can't take the LPGA seriously anymore it's going away from golf and heading towards entertainment.

Everyone loves Paula Creamer including me! She say's all the right things although they oft repeated rehearsed answers to all the usual tournament questions and her injuries so by now we have heard them all a 1000 times. She is good for the game and a very good player. It would be nice to see here stick around down the stretch when the pressure is on this week but her MO this season is she will fade when things start to get tough. If she is in contention when Sunday starts she will play poorly and if she is not in contention then she will play a stellar pressure less round to get back within a few shots of the lead.
I would like to again address the LPGA or who ever set up this tournament. The course is incredibly easy and the LPGA is reporting 6600 yards when in fact it is just a hair over 6200! I just don't understand why they do that! If anyone does please fill me in. I understand it makes no difference but to mislead people so they think that these women are playing like men is wrong, there are integrity issues and it helps no one!

Lorena Ochoa will find some magic and go low in one of these rounds, after all it's her home course and she has played hundreds of rounds on it! She is just not quite the old Lorena her precision with her irons is off just a hair and she is not getting the great birdie chances we are accustom to seeing from her.

Did everyone see the spot where Jiyai Shin was doing a promo and said "Lorena I'm here at your home and I brought my best game" It was adorable. She is adorable and has a wonderful smile and a great attitude for this game.

When I made my picks for the Ochoa event I forgot all about Tutta, She will be a factor in this even. I have no idea how I could have forgot her since I have been looking forward to her getting back since she left. This girl has all the tools to own the LPGA tour for the next two or three or even more years. She is also a fierce competitor and is driven to succeed in golf. She's long had the short game of Anika and putts pretty fair. It would not surprise me to see her run away from the field at this event. Rumor has it that that Kerr chic is playing some good golf also but I can't see her being a factor given recent travel.

Ochoa tournament has only 10 americans

Only 10 American players are in the tentative field this week and I expect less than that to actually play. There are only 36 golfers so it's my contention there will be one American in the top 10 and that one will come from the players who were not in the Mizuno tournament in japan last week. Our American Girls don't travel well and play well in consecutive weeks. Sure they can travel and play well from Albany to Rochestser but going from the US to Korea to Japan to Mexico, umm no they don't do it well. So expect Angela Stanford, Pressel and Wie to be Americans best hopes this week but expect them to get routed by Ochoa, Shin and Tseng who are playing for something.

Fond Farewell to my Titleist 681 irons

The time has come!!!!!! I have been putting it off far to long and now it has come. My beloved Titleist 681 blades are in need of being replaced. They have been my best golf partner for a very long time and have seen through many of my very best and most enjoyable years of golf. I will miss my old friends and am not looking forward to embarking on the unpleasant path of replacing them.

For those of you who are not familiar with the 681 forged blades, they are by any standard the premier players irons. The are workable and somewhat forgiving and soft as butter. I have hit many different clubs and never have I found any as comfortable as these. If it were possible I would have another set made rather than switch but alas time and progress has changed the game and I must move with it or left behind.

Titleist is to golf what Louis Vuitton is to ladies purses. It's the standard by which all others are compared and their excellence in all areas of golf is evident. They make the very best golf balls and have for so many years. They make the best equipment and have for so many years. Sure they get out marketed by the likes of Taylor Made/Addidas and Callaway but only because their products are the best and the need for the Golf Companies to pay incredible sums to players to play their products that are altered to play very much like the ones Titleist produces can they survive. I'm a huge fan of Titleist and it will always be where my golfing allegiance will lie!

So in my effort to replace my 681 irons I will go to the titleist performance center if I can manage to get in and have new clubs made in an effort to duplicate and maybe even improve on the what is in my mind the very best irons ever made the forged Titleist 681's

A few more things about golf instruction! If you have a problem in your game and go to a golf instructor for a lesson I will bet you and give you 4 to 1 odds that if you visit five golf instructors they will give you five different fixes to your problem and five different reasons for it. I really think it is a huge con game if your a golfer with a handicap lower than 18. The only way that they will help is if you use the same teacher and then all you end up doing is playing his game which is probably not the game or swing that fits you or your body type. I know there are great golf teachers out there and they all they want to do is help you have more fun playing golf and improve but it's all right in front of you!!!!! Every shot technique, every swing path, every idea behind it and every type of shot is here on the web. There is so much information on every single aspect of golf and so many different views on each that all that needs done is to research and find the person who swings like you! I don't mean their swing looks like yours, but rather there club is at the same steepness and on the same plane at impact.

Golf lessons for veteran golfers are something I can't seem to wrap my head around. I understand that some need instruction at the beginning stages of golf but after you have developed a solid fundamental knowledge of golf and the golf swing why would you need someone to teach you how to improve.

Take Mike Breed for example, the golf channels fast talking guy! You would waste your time working on half the stuff he teaches. Some of it is correct but lots of it is just so wrong in it's theory and execution that if you did see any improvement it would be because your hand eye coordination was improving and not your shot making ability. These days, if there is a shot you want to hit or something you need to work on, you can look it up on the web and see 10 guys hitting the same shots and their theories behind why and go out and try them all and see which one works best for you. NOTE TO ALL GOLF INSTRUCTORS AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! All golfers are not the same, there is not one or even two universal golf swings to be taught. Lessons should be about the impact of the club and the golf ball and getting to that point. This nonsense about gigantic follow through and double follow through and all of that is just nonsense. Teach the important part of golf and not whatever it is your trying to teach other than the "at impact portion" and getting to "impact". The beauty of the golf swing is superfluous and it's sad that so many people have beautiful golf swings but can't play a lick.

The secret to putting is practicing and practicing properly. The same with all other aspects of the game. every thing you need is right on the web and done by the golfers who do it better than anyone else not some guy who makes his living telling you how to do it because he can't do it well enough!

I understand Dave Pelz is the guru of the short game but is anything he says really anything that a veteran golfer hasn't heard before. NO it's not!!!!! It wont ever be but people have this need to think they will improve their game by paying people to tell them how to improve their game rather than taking it on themselves. Is it really YOUR golf game, or are you a typical golf instructor robot! Please don't be one!!!!!!!!!!

Nicole Castrale has one of if not the most engaging smile on the planet and she is always smiling. Of late however, her smiles are not golf related. She can't seem to get out of her own way on the golf course since the a t17 at the US Open in July. I feel bad for her and her husband/caddy as nothing can be worse than living the golf life and not being able to do anything right. You just want to give a her a huge hug and say it's going to be OK and it will all work out! As much as I hope it does work out for Nicole, who is one of the truly genuinely nice(all the time) girls on the tour, I'm skeptical. My recommendation is to put the clubs down! Don't even play out the string! Just get away and forget golf for two solid months until you miss it so bad it hurts. She has been playing every event and really not even competing but just showing up. It can't be fun for her.

LPGA Tour Championship really nothing special!!!!!!!!!!

The LPGA will play it's season ending Tour Championship November 19th - 22. Which is great, the problem is they are allowing the top 120 golfers on the money list to play in it. This means currently Marisa Baena who is number 120 could be rewarded for making 7 out of 15 cuts and whose best finish was a tie for 32nd. Now if you ask me there really is nothing special here other than the fact that they will cut down to 70 after 36 holes and then down to 30 after 54 holes. Why waste peoples time and just let the top 30 shoot it out rather than including 40 other players who do not deserve to be there?

In other LPGA news, why would the players allow Christina Kim another term on the Board! She was a big Bivens supporter and fought to hide the terrible things she did that caused the tour so much grief. What are you players thinking? This girl just does not get the the concept of the what the LPGA is trying to do. She has no idea why the integrity of the game needs to come first and why golf supersedes other sports in the need for conservative intelligent promotion.

PGA ruins career of Doug Barron

The PGA made a huge error in the Doug Barron suspension and if I was Doug Barron I would make them pay. They have taken away his livelihood they have stripped him of his honor and why? Here is why, the PGA had to show people they were in fact testing for drugs! The only way for people to know they were and make it public was for someone to get caught. Does any one believe for one second that Doug Barron was taking PED's? So at Barrons expense, the PGA looks like it's making a legitimate effort to expose PED's on it's tour. They had to catch someone and why not someone insignificant to the tour. It' really rather sickening when you think about it.

In a day when the LPGA is no longer the "Elite" women's golf tour on the planet,well except for the purses. It's becoming more and more obvious that they are moving from a quality golf tour to a glitz and glamor type tour. No longer do the beat players get the accolades (see Anika) but they go to the best looking players. I will use Natalie Gulbis as an example here. A mediocre type player who always turns in her best rounds on sunday when not in contention! Not in an effort to win mind you but to get into the top ten or 15. Like clock work you can count on Gulbis to shoot one poor and two ok rounds and then blister a 67 on sunday with no pressure on her. You can also count on the media making her out to be the greatest player since Patty Berg to ever set foot on a golf course. Who care about the fact that she could not even qualify to play in her own countries championship or that she was crushed by amateurs half her age trying to qualify. The reason, nobody wears shorter skirts or tighter shirts! Now you have players like Anna Rawson and Taylor Leon doing calendars, who are not elite player by any standard, commanding attention that should go to Shin and Miyazato and Ochoa.

Players Like Nicole Hage and Jeehae Lee who have no business playing in tournaments with Suzann Petterson and Brittany Lang are given status to do so regardless of how consistently poorly they play! No sir, I contend it's no longer about golf it's about sex and marketing. I find it sad and I guarantee you if you ask Beth Daniel (off the record of course)Nancy Lopez and especially Patty Sheehan, they will give you the very same answer. Nope the LPGA has lost it's integrity and when that happens in the golf world and your not John Daly you won't get a second chance.

Fact 1. Most LPGA golf fans have been playing golf far longer than any of the players on the tour!

Fact 2. These very same fans know the rules of golf and have per capita a higher education level than the players on the tour!

So why is it when a fan says something about the the tour. The LPGA player always replies "you don't know anything about the LPGA or it's players" Like it's some kind of rocket science. It's golf Ladies and lots of us out here can play it better than you!!!!!!

You never ever would get a reply like that from a PGA Tour Professional, They realize how hard they work to get to and stay on the tour and how much the presence of fans help their game. Not so with the LPGA! They can't handle the truth and really don't want to hear it! They think their fans are idiots and away from the tournaments they treat them like they are. Oh sure there are some genuinely nice girls on the LPGA Tour the problem is not them being nice it's that they think because they are "Professional Golfers" that they know more about the game than any fan could!
So I would like to pose a challenge to the LPGA. Pick four LPGA players ( any four) and I will pick four LPGA golf fans and we will play a small event and see just how good your ladies really are? I understand if your hesitant! When you can't control the set up or bluff the yardages it could prove disastrous. I'm here and ready if you think your women are as good as they think they are!

If that idea scares you to much here is another. You put Nicole Hage, Dorothy Delasin and Jeehae Lee and any other LPGA player you choose and I will find four female LPGA fans and you can try your luck that way. You want to call these women"professionals" lets see just how good they can play?

I just finished a great little book about a Duramed Futures Tour rookie and her trials and tribulations of being on tour away from home but also about the joy she brings to the small towns she visits and the people she comes in contact with. Dave Andrews (Harvard 73) was kind enough to send me a signed copy and it was as enjoyable a book as I have read in sometime. Kim &Pressel Quit Tseng & Hjorth play well

Wow, I was watching the Hanna Bank via internet and I saw something I never though I would see and hope I never see again. Two members of the US top twenty "Professional Golfers" just quit, they just gave up on their rounds. Morgan Pressel and Christina Kim should have phoned it in because they embarrassed themselves the tour and the Country. I had always respected Pressel as a fierce competitor! I know better now she is a fair weather girl. The same with kim.

The conditions were poor it was wet and cold but Maria Hjorth stood toe to toe with Tseng and Choi and matched them shot for shot. You really find out about golfers during adverse conditions and now we no Maria Hjorth, Yani Tseng and Choi have heart and Pressel and Kim are fair weather no adversity type players who lack the personal pride to work and improve when the sun is not shining.

Hana Bank bows to conditions

Your first round leaders, yes the very ones who shot 6 under par the first round of the Hana Bank had a bit of trouble today. Anna Grzebien shot an 82 and Meghan Francella a 79. The conditions were poor and scores were high but not this high. Even Pat Hurst a veteran of playing in bad conditions sputtered to a 7 over 79. I am not going to say any of these ladies played poorly because I can seem to get a accurate read on exactly what the conditions were but they didn't seem to bother Yani who shot the low round at 2 under. Judging from the score it appears if you shot +2 or lower you had a pretty good day. Tomorrow will be interesting to say the least with Maria Hjorth the only non Asian in contention.

What a surprise to wake up and see Meghan Francella in the lead at the Hana Bank. I was not surpised at all to see Nicole Castrale in last place. Two similar golfers going in opposite directions. Francella having a good journeymen type year but lacking consistency and Castrale is going through a spot so rough even David Duvall could appreciate it. Nicole Castrale has the greatest smile in golf and is happily married to a great guy whom follows her everywhere. This is apparently not a good mix for pro golf. Since a terrible showing at the Solheim Cup Castrale has just fell off the planet as far as golf is concerned. Since mid July I believe she has made one cut and that being the Navistar where she finished tied with Francella for 32nd. Francella on the other hand is never going to challenge for top ten in the world or the Solheim cup because she just has no intentions of working that hard because it's there, the tools are there just not the will. She seems satisfied with being middle of the road mediocre and is able t0 live with that.

You won't however see Francella or Anna Grzebien in the top ten at the end of the week and it's doubtfull that Pat Hurst will be there either. Shin, Tseng, Ochoa will be there and Catroina Matthews and Vicky Hurst will be there and that you can count on.

After some more research on our new Comish I learned he was not even working prior to being selected to lead the LPGA out of demise. This is neither here nor there but I can tell you one thing. Looking at the picture of on the LPGA website. Mr. Whan has either lost weight recently or is a cheap suit kind of guy. I'm sure knowing how fashion conscious the LPGA players are they will have a meeting and send a letter to the board recommending a new tailor for Mr. Whan.

LPGA will announce 2010 schedule at Tour Championship

Marty Evans and Michael Whan will announce the 2010 LPGA schedule which will consist of tentatively 24 events. They have only 18 on the schedule so far and I assume they are trying to shore up the contracts for the other six events in the next two weeks. Not since 1971 has the LPGA had fewer tournaments.

I also have it on very good authority that the entry requirements for tournaments will be changing in 2010. I can't seem to nail down the exact wording of the rules but it's a start in moving toward putting the best golfers on the course based on merit and not seniority. I am hoping they will exempt the top 30 players and force the rest to qualify. Insuring the players in the tournament are playing the best golf at that time.

Hey, no Ai Miyazato, Suzann Pettersen, Michelle Wie, or Natalie Gulbis this week. All big draws for the LPGA! I'm sure Tournament Officials are not happy about this. I'm going with Yani Tseng this week!

The LPGA can't seem to do anything right these days and now it will become more evident than ever. They hired a man who was let go by TaylorMade-Adidas and went to a fledgling hockey equipment company that pretty much failed and got gobbled up by Bauer for pennies on the dollar.

How is this guy, who I assume is a very nice and well educated man, going to get the LPGA on network TV and get more sponsors to pony up dollars which all go to IMG anyway. I hope and pray he can pull off a miracle but I'm afraid that this gentleman has taken a position for which he lacks experience and qualifications to execute effectively.

I am more than willing to give him a chance but tying his hands with IMG? I don't believe anyone you put in that position has a fighting chance. Good luck Mr. Whan I will be your biggest fan if you can pull this off with the IMG shackels on you arms.

I had the honor of bumping into Ms. Nisha Sadekar via an short email conversation last night. I had heard MS. Sadekars name mentioned from time to time at various tournaments and always assumed she was a player agent. Last night I found out she is so much more. She emailed me to let me know that my blog post about Nicole Hage was off base and she did so with professionalism and brilliance. I promptly returned her email stating my case as it was more golf related and not a personal attack because as LPGA fans we know Nicole is a beautiful, classy and engaging young woman.

What's the difference between inside the ropes and outside the ropes!!!!!!!!!

Why do professional golfers especially female professional golfers always try and tell you that the only way you could understand is to be inside the ropes. Ladies it's golf, I play to a sub 2 handicap it's the same weather your in South Korea or South Bend Indiana, competitive golf is just that, competitive golf. Now the average golfer may very well not understand the Golf Industry as a whole but trust me ladies we do understand the game and on occasion better than you do. So this "inside the ropes" stuff is simply a way to try and distance yourselves from intelligent , knowledgeable, and passionate fans.

Golf unlike the NFL or NBA can be experienced by everyone and the rules are the same and there is a standard that is set (par) and handicaps issued that make everyone equal. So to try and tell a good weekend golfer that he has no idea because he is outside the ropes is ignorant! The golf industry is a totally different animal! With sponsors and equipment manufacturers and promotions etc. Yes you get a pass there but that is not inside the ropes. Inside the ropes is golf and if anything else is inside the ropes then I can assure you it's against the rules!

College no longer in the LPGA's plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe it is irresponsible for the LPGA to allow players to play on it's tour without having gone to or being the age of a college graduate. Let me give you a few examples. Of the top 100 golfers on the LPGA money list about 40 are Asian and 60 are from the rest of the world. Of those 60 non Asian born players, 26 went to college and approximately 16 received their college degree. So 16 college degrees out of 60 players.

Those college degrees however are predominantly made up of Communications, Exercise Science, and Sports and Entertainment Management. These are the very same majors that Major College football teams use to keep their players eligible. Yes pretty much basket weaving one and two.

No consider the like of Meaghan Francella who is a mediocre golfer middle of the road player can't seem to put any consistency together but a great great girl none the less regardless of her sexual preferences. She has a Communications Degree from UNC I believe(yes went to Memphis and transferred)and has zero marketable skills and has maybe another year on tour. What will happen to her?????I think it's the LPGA's responsibility if they are going to reap the benefits of these players that they educate them in the process.

A high percentage of these girls won't survive on tour more than a couple years and barley make any money. We need to either show them how to work hard and compete or educate them in case they can't!!!!

Why can't America's women win in Asia? Asians dominate the LPGA here!

At the risk of breaking a few barriers, I'm going to attempt to delve into a subject which may alienate some readers but facts are facts. As the LPGA moves to South Korea and Japan the next few weeks before returning to the states for the Tour Championship it appears the chances of America having a winner in any of the last three events is slim to none.

Our best player, Christie Kerr has been living the high life in New York and commenting on things she ought not to discuss on the record. While Jiyai Shin and Ai Miyazato were both practicing and winning in Japan. Lorena Ochoa I have no doubt has made this month off count and will be right in the thick of things in each of the next three events.

Work ethic is the reason the Asians Dominate women's professional golf. Our American women have some but nothing close to that of the Asians or of Lorena Ochoa. Our girls are spoon fed praise and told they are great and the problem is they want to win they love to win but they are not good enough to win in full field events. We do not have an American female golfer who can play well on the final day with a lead or withing a few shots of the lead. Our women lack the mental toughness that the Asian players have perfected through playing tough fields week in and week out and learning how to handle pressure and close out final rounds. our girls play well on the last day if they are more than five shots out and need a run to get into the top ten but they can't play with a lead or within a shot or two.

So lets let them continue to be praised and make them stars for no reason and without merit. They can all work out, wear short skirts and do calenders and if that's all the LPGA wants then it was doomed to fail anyway. Lets get girls who can compete on our countries very own tour. Not once a year but week in and week out like thier Asian counterparts can do.

I will give you and example. Check the twitter accounts of the top American players and you will read mostly about food and electronic gadgets and packing and travel and anything but golf except at the end of a tournament day. Then check the tweets of the top Asian players and it's all golf! good, bad or indifferent it's all business and they love it. there is no grinding for asian players they know the opportunity they have been given and they are going to take full advantage.

Nicole Hage, a so called "professional Golfer" who has sponsors and her name on her bag and beauty beyond measure and is really just a little girl who can't handle the truth and all things aside, just not a very good golfer. Like so many of the Golfers on the LPGA tour today Nicole has the physical tools to be very good yet she has a poor work ethic and a worse temper but don't tell her the truth or you will face the wrath.

This is her second year on the tour and her stroke average is right around 78 and among the worst on the LPGA. Golf obviously is not her forte but don't tell her that she thinks she is world class caliber and everyone on this earth should think so to. You see letting these immature little girls play is just killing the LPGA's product when there are so many wonderful players out there who would raise the level of play the LPGA continues to let double digit handicap type players dominate their fields. If I want to see players like this I can everyday at any golf course across the country. I believe this girl needs and education as do many of the LPGA journeyman high handicappers because living on sponsor money and not producing will get you zero returns unless your a flaunter like Natalie Gulbis!

Angela Stanford, You just have to love her!!!!!!!!

Angela Stanford leads the LPGA in rounds under par. Not scoring average! She makes birdies and very few bogey's. You have to love this girl. She is the quintessential type of golfer the LPGA needs. She plays golf, everyone of her peers adore her and yet you never hear a controversial word come out of her mouth. At a time when the LPGA needs quality players to be quality people, Angela is at the top!

You won't see Angela posing nude or hustleing worthless golf gadgets. You won't see her wearing her skirts to short or her shirts to tight. You will get from Angela, hard work, great sportsmanship and very good golf. The only thing Angela is not doing is winning. She seems to be there week in and week out but it would be nice to see her close one out.

If you are a regular reader you know that the LPGA is in total disarray and is trying to find something or someone to to wave a magic wand and heal it's wounds. They haven't played in a month and will only play one more event in the US this year and when compared with the PGA, Nationwide and even the Hooters tour the LPGA has become the laughing stock of golf. Oh they will dig up something and the LPGA will muddle through a few more years but the damage has been done the quality of golf so poor! Let me give you an example!

These 8 players who for the most part can play tournaments and get into tournaments ahead of Amanda Blumenhurst or Jean Reynolds, yes the eight players on this list have shot a total of 5 rounds under par combined all season! These women could not win a golf tournament at the local municipal course and here they are week in and week out teeing it up ahead of much better golfers on the so called "elite womens golf tour"

Please someone tell me why! You have to be an idiot not to see why this is killing the LPGA. Imagine 8 professional golfers playing all season and out of all those rounds on 5 scorecards have a sub par round on them. Now tell me whats wrong with the LPGA!

Jim Nance, Steve Phillips, Rick Pitino, David Letterman, Shawn Crawford, Woody Paige, Harold Reynolds, Steve McNair, David Letterman and many more. It's obvious that professional sports, sports media and show business in general are really loaded with scum bags. All these men have families and children and all of them cheated on their wives and children and now their employers. What happened to honor and ethics and being a good husband and father? Why do we have to read about scum bags like this everyday and why are these scumbags given positions where they can pretend like they are upstanding people. I think they should all be classified as sexual predators and be made to go through hundreds of hours of counseling to even be able to marry again. I think they should be fired from their jobs and blackballed from the business.

These are not real men!!!!!! These are morally bankrupt men who have no business being in the public eye!

Election day is November 3rd this year and as it draws near, I got to thinking about weather an individuals vote really counts at all. Assuming that a majority of the people out there (maybe optimistic) really put some thought into their vote as I believe is the intent of our Constitution. It appears that our or the people's voice of the vote is an exercise in futility. I for one am tempted to send Washington a bill for the countless hours of TV adds, talk shows and debates not to mention the junk mail that read watch and deliberate over to make my voting selection. The reason being that none not one single thing we are told prior to the elections by candidates ever happens.

I didn't vote for our current president but will use him as an example because his campaign was the most publicized and memorable!

He our government would be more transparent. (it's gotten worse)

He said there would be no more no bid contracts (there are more than ever)

He said government would be more efficeint and smaller (it's bigger and slower than ever)

He said he would bring the troops home from Iraq by the end of 2009 (not even close to happening)
He would end Afghan war (more troop deploying before the holidays)

So what possible good did it it do for us to listen to anything he said and not just him George Bush before him was the quintessential liar?

If we were not in either of these wars we could pay for health care for every man woman and child in this country for 20 years so far and never have to borrow a dime!

My point is this it is by law illegal for a politician who has taken an oath of public office to lie to the public! So the next time a politician any politician lies and you can prove it. Sue them! You don't need a lawyer or even to have money I doubt the courts will give you much time but it will sure make a mess for the politician and hopefully teach them a lesson. We don't have to continue to have our tax dollars just frittered away on random useless and idiotic things. We don't have to take this any longer.

This year on the LPGA tour there is a total of approximately 64 million dollars. Next year the LPGA tour prize money will total about 40 million dollars. No I may not be the smartest man in the world but even in this economy the PGA Tour, MLB, NFL, and Pro Tennis will all have increases in total purses or revenues for next year and the LPGA will lose 24 million. Now we can blame this on quality of product, lack of TV exposure, just blatantly poor marketing and mismanagement across the board. I blame a bit of it on twitter. Follow Christina Kim on twitter for a day or Morgan Pressel both wonderful golfers and as far as I know great people. That being said, reading their tweets will leave you thinking your following a couple of junior high girls who have no idea what it means to work or live in the real world. It's so infantile that you have a hard time keeping your respect for either of them. You have to respect their golf games but they have no idea what life is about or being a grown up entails.

LPGA looking to emmulate marketing plan of SUBWAY

There was an LPGA outing yesterday at the Chelsea Pier and the topic of conversation was marketing. If you read yesterday's blog on here you noticed that I kind of ribbed the LPGA for not marketing to it key demographics. Well it seems to me if your biggest and most numerous fans are educated males that marketing to them would be a lot like marketing fine wine or high end luxury cars and not the prepubescent McDonald's type marketing that's been done for so long. The LPGA needs to pay someone to come up with a campaign to market it as a quality, high end organization rather than the blue collar golf tour.

I mean when you have the Roseanne Barr of the LPGA (Christina Kim)posing nude to represent your tour, it's quite obvious you are desperate and are making a cry for help. So the topic of the LPGA outing was the SUBWAY marketing plan, which is I guess one to look very closely at if it your intention to have a Walmart driven tour. Why not sell your LPGA apparel in WALMART? Why not give away coupons for buy one get one free tickets with the purchase of a box of Sam's Choice tampons! I mean after all they are the better value. Come on people, the reason the PGA Tour does so well is not because the players are standing around Walmart with signs that say come to the tournament but because they're not there! The only way to see Tiger Woods is to go to the tournament. The only way to see the best golfers on the planet is to be there and take it in first hand. I don't want to see Natalie Gulbis shaking hands with little girls at the mall. I want to see her Golfing. I want to see her making shots that I can't hit I want to see her doing things that separate her from all the other women not what makes them the same.

Does anyone not get this! I mean come on people this is what you do. I can not believe you can have so many people, who are supposed to experts in this field, together in one place and not get who you are and what you need to do to get where you want to go. You have 9 and 10 handicaps playing on your tour that's like the local municipal golf course. You obviously don't have to be a good golfer to be on the LPGA so why would anyone want to watch or go to an event when you have only 18-20 golfers that are even worth watching? Please, LPGA get some help. If you need advice call me.

Educated Males and Lesbians, these are the LPGA's biggest fanbase and they market to neither. Failure to market to either is a huge mistake.

Why do the Asian players come to the US. to play on the LPGA tour you ask? Well it's simple and the answer is money. They are better golfers and the purses on the LPGA are significantly better here. These Asian players come to the LPGA, bank a million dollars give or take and head home and bank another 200k over the winter when the US Women are involved in shameless self promotion primarily aimed a little kids and women. When their demographic is educated men and lesbians which one they fail to market to and the other they fail to acknowledge

I understand that having educated golf purists(predominantly male) and lesbians as your primary fans it difficult to market to both but failing to market to either is just idiotic. So it won't be long before the purses shrink and the Asians leave and the better US. golfers will play elsewhere to make the better dollars.

It's really simple to figure out but the LPGA seems to have trouble figuring out anything these days let alone marketing. You can spend millions marketing to kids an may reap some long term benefits but golf is not as addicting as tobacco and to market to people who can't support it is a stupid move.

Jeehae Lee #538 in latest Rolex Rankings

Jeehae Lee is very beautiful and I thought intelligent coming from Yale and turning Pro in 2006 and gaining status to play on the LPGA Tour this year. I finding out she is not very smart nor can she play golf. I have better women golfers at my club than this girl who is allowed to week in and week out play and embarrass herself on the LPGA Tour. She can't putt or drive the ball in the fairway,nor can she get up and down from off the green yet every single week she is out there playing her two rounds.

Now here is some evidence of how poor the golf has gotten on the LPGA Tour. Jeehae is number 156 on the LPGA money list because she made one cut and took dead last in that tournament which she earned about $3,500 for and not a single penny more the rest of the year. The think is she is #156 on the money list and only completed one tournament. She is not even in the top 156 golfers from her own country. She is ranked 538 in the latest rankings from Rolex. You watch however she will take her 9 handicap and be teeing it up with all the other tour players at the Tour Championship.

I don't believe she was even able to go back to her home Korea to play in the Hana Bank tournament. If she is though we can that being a Representative she will not embarrass the LPGA to badly against players much better than her from her own country.

I know I am really beating this Jeehae Lee, Dorothy Delasin thing to death but come on these players are carrying double or near double digit handicaps and playing on a self proclaimed "Elite" tour. You won't see a PGA Tour player with a handicap who plays week in and week out. You have to have less than a 5.4 handicap to even be able to enter the Women's US Amateur so how is it these ladies get to steal tournament spots from better golfers. It's sickening!

No Presidents Cup for LPGA

Can you Imagine if the LPGA has a Presidents Cup. I think we all know why they don't. The USA would be such huge underdogs it wouldn't even get any TV attention.

Look at what the teams would be.

USA would consist of Christie Kerr, Paula Creamer,Angela Stanford,Michelle Wie,Kristy McPhearson, Morgan Pressel, Brittany Lincicome, Brittany Lang and two Captains picks who would be Christina Kim and Michelle Redman

The International team would be.

Lorena Ochoa, Jiyai Shin, Suzann Petterson, Yani Tseng, Kari Webb, In Kyung Kim, Ai Miyazato,Song Hee Kim, with Anna Nordqvist and Catronia Matthew as Captains picks.

With the exception of Morgan Pressel, Christina Kim and maybe Michelle Wie, none of the American players are even remotely adept at match play golf. We all watched the S-Cup and with the Europeans being about two deep as far as good players we should have demolished them but didn't.

I would like to see an Asia against the world event though. The Asian are far and away the better match play golfers and an event like this would be a real treat to golf purists everywhere.

I got lots of emails about the negatives og golf in the Olympics and the consensus is that it's fantastic, 99.9% of you have a problem with the format. Which as it stands not is Top 60 men and women in a 72 hole stroke play format. This exactly what we see every week on both tours or very close to it. I would like to see it in teams from each country with their top pro and top amateur paired together in a best ball event. So you have Tiger Woods and Ricky Fowler, Kristie Kerr and Jennifer Song. I believe this would be keeping with the best interest of Olympic competition.

Golf in the Olympics!!!!!!!!!

I woke today anticipating that golf as expected would be added to the 2016 Games. It was and I am happy about that and the more I think about it the happier I get. It is an opportunity to introduce golf to some areas where it has never been feasible. I mean sure the US and Old Europe and Asian Countries will have a huge advantage at the outset. I can guarantee you however, that it won't be long before Russia, the Ukraine, and many smaller nations improve drastically. It will be the Jamaican bob sled team type of scenario for the first couple of games but by the 2024 games It's my opinion that you will see some very big surprises. By the 2020 games you will see a few excellent golfers from Countries who never had golf and then by 2024 you will see a country other than the ones you expect get a medal. It really is going to improve the game and take it to heights that we can only dream of. I fail to see one single negative here. If I'm wrong please fill me it it looks like not just a win win but a win win win and those are very rare in this day and age.

I know that i have been pretty negative about the LPGA lately and I honestly don't mean to be that way. I love the LPGA, I think it's a great mix of personalities and cultures and is just a wonderful institution. The reason I'm so hard on the tour is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm trying to squeak loud enough so that they (the LPGA) pull their collective heads out of their arses and realize what a tremendous product they could produce. My reasoning for being negative is this. When a plan flies from JFK to LAX and lands safely, you never hear about but if there is a problem it's all over the news. Well if the Tour was being run correctly, and the quality of the golf was improving and sponsors were lining up (like the PGA Tour) then you would hardly hear about this but this is not the case!

I would like to see many changes on the LPGA Tour an i believe all of them are feasible and can be done with really minimum financial output. Here is my list.

1. First and foremost, the many very marginal players on the tour are blocking better players from tournaments. Do away with any rules that prevent your tournament fields from having the very best players.

2. Ban your golfers from twitter, They are embarrassing themselves and the tour!

3. You need to embrace the Asian players and the great sponsors they bring with them.
4. Report you game honestly, Your adding fictitious yardages to your courses and there is no need to mislead people. We know these are not men and don't expect them to be.

5. DO NOT ALLOW QUESTIONABLE ACTIVITIES for the sake of publicity

6. Make your Golfers get educations

7. Stupid choices for publicity need to be axed. For instance playing the US. Open on they same course as the men(3 days later) with out time to repair the course. I wouldn't want to hit every other shot out of a divot at the US. Open when the course should be expected to be in pristine condition. Not to mention people have just see the men play it and won't believe how much easier it is when the women play it. Why, because you have been fudging yardages!!!!!!

8. Don't put all your hopes on Michelle Wie, it's not fair to her and you will be disappointed.

9. Please, secure a TV contract so you can at least compete with the senior tour. Until people can watch your game live it will never prosper.

10. Select a new Board of directors that have a real interest in the tour. They have done a terrible job and need replaced.

11. Control your members, you can not have shameless self promotion by your golfers that undermines the fabric of what your trying to promote.

Now the reason I want to post this is because this is a player who has done nothing but play Professional Golf in her life. She has been on the LPGA Tour for years and won multiple (2) I believe times and makes a very nice living. It's the fact that she does not know why golf and golfers are held to higher standards then other sports. She does not understand or the LPGA is negligent in making it clear that adult fans of golf average over four years of college and have income levels that are two to three times higher than the major ticket sales driven sports. She does not understand why Rolex and Mercedes Benz and Izod LaCoste sponsor golf and tennis and not NASCAR and NFL Football!

How does one become a professional golfer yet know nothing about the game? I can't even comprehend how an LPGA "professional golfer" could not know that their sport was sponsor driven rather than ticket sales driven like the NBA and NFL. The ticket sales at a single LPGA event would not even cover the course set up for that event. To think that your Tour in it's dying hour can withstand more public scrutiny by the very people who support it, is just idiotic behavior.

I'm done, when you have an LPGA player who is on the Board of the Tour and has absolutely no idea what her sports demographic is or what makes her sport answer to a higher standard then the others and with out regard for the very Sport and Organization that employs her chooses to represent the game in a way that can be conceived as negative is more than I as a lover of the LPGA can stand.

While drinking my coffee this morning and reading about the world of golf,I came across a few interesting articles on the Golf Channel Site, http://www.thegolfchannel.com/shag-bag/ now after reading these it pretty much confirms what I have been hearing about the LPGA and it's so called "situation" and here are some thoughts. The Corning Classic a staple on the tour for so so long pulls the plug on it's tournament. Now, if you have ever been to corning it's a pretty small place and the LPGA event is all they have. It allows hotels and motels and restaurants to stay open year round rather than close during the winter. It also makes up a huge percentage of the communities tourist revenue. The Company footing the bill to bring the LPGA to Corning is a "stead fast all American, something out of nothing support it's community" type company that is so lacking in our country today. It is also on very solid financial footing!

So you can understand why those of us who love the LPGA needed more information about this. I mean, of all the tournaments to fail to renew this would be the very last because of the life this tournament breathes into the community. So,I looked deeper, Yes Carolyn Bivens was a terrible tyrant towards companies trying to increase their costs two and three times to sponsor a tournament. Lying to long time partners of the tour and TV executives. This however is only the tip of the iceberg! The LPGA is in such disarray that the Corining Classic people have gave a resounding NO to the LPGA. They will not even consider coming back until they get their house in order. Now things have become clear, the other tournaments that have already pulled out saw this also and didn't have the long standing connections with the LPGA so they pulled the plug early where the Corning Classic much like the Jaime Farr in Toledo have been staples on the tour for so long it was hard for them to leave the LPGA even in times of trouble. The trouble, however has gotten substantial. The LPGA is losing control of it's tour and it's finances. The players now run the tour, but none or few have educations and many are teenagers. Yes, they were smart in getting Bivens to leave but she had done alot of damage. You don't repair your broken fences with nudity, players being rude to fans, short skirts and big smiles.
What I'm saying is that Golf is by invention a conservative game, It requires, sportsmanship, pride, and integrity! The LPGA has lost it's integrity! You can't ask Companies grounded in fair and honest business practices to sponsor an event for a organization with no integrity. Corning and Jaimie Farr are institutions who came to golf as a means of promoting their long standing and fair and honest relationship with their respective customers and communities. Not to sponsor an organization so it's players can pose nude. It won't matter how tasteful the ESPN article is. It is not in the best interest of any of the sponsors today.

At this rate we will soon see the the "PLAYBOY LPGA Classic "and the "Nuva Ring LPGA Tournament" because no legitimate American company will be willing to lend it's name to a Tour who lacks INTEGRITY!

The LPGA needs to learn that any publicity is good publicity but only if your an out of work movie star! Integrity is everything in sports especially this "Grand Ole Game" and when you don't have any you will always lose!!!!!!!!

The Grand Ole Game, Beauty Personified, Golf has stood the test of time and shown it's teeth through war and tragedy. It's my contention that at it's current state, the LPGA is hurting golf.

Don't misunderstand me please, when I say the LPGA I mean the administrative branch of womens professional golf. Not the players, not the soldiers who can't help but be the victims of the tour they have joined under the assumption that their best interests would always be considered paramount.

Honesty and honor are what golf is based on! To be the LPGA and violate both of those corner stones of golf is unthinkable and obviously unmaintainable. When you have to sink to self reporting your game in ways that are not true and intentionally mislead the very people you want to patronize your sport is not good in any arena but in golf it;s sacrilege. You can't announce record crowds at tournaments when the crowds were not half of what they have been in years past. You can't say this course is playing at 6,400 yards when it's playing at 6,000 yards. You can't say your the world premier womens golf tour when you have exempt woman playing week in and week out who have or would carry double digit handicaps. Yet the LPGA has thrown the rules of golf out the window and look where it has landed them.
You have encouraged players to use twitter to be closer to the fans. Huge mistake, follow one of the players you admire on twitter and you will see how lives with out meaning or perspective are lived. I'm serious follow Morgan Pressel or Christina Kim two frequent tweeters and you will realize that these girls who are fan favorites just about anywhere really have nothing but golf and lack the education to excel in any other field other than restaurant critic. I grant you, both are young and pleasant but a little reading between the lines and you will feel sorry for them. Deciding between Gucci or Jimmy Choo boots is a major life decision for them and what to pack for the next trip after they have done it hundreds of times they still are no better at it and fret over it.

Allowing players who represent a game of time honored esteem such as golf to pose nude is a huge mistake. Golf does not need or want that kind of publicity. The LPGA, does though! At this point it surprises me they are not having their golfers play in thong bikini's but it will happen soon. You see the quality of golf on the LPGA has decreased to the point that marketing the players is the only way the LPGA can stay afloat. Much like NASCAR the product is really irrelevant but the drivers is where they spend their marketing dollars because it's the only thing that's different that can be marketed and the LPGA is finding that by not allowing the best players to play each week there is really no difference in the golf so you need to market the players and figures and breasts and butts anything but the golf because the golf is poor and the courses have been made so easy.

After this last tournament and the misleading info used by the LPGA and the terrible way in which one of the players treated what I know to be her biggest fan and the meagerness of the course set up turning the entire game into a putting competition I have decided that there is no reason to keep wasting time on the LPGA when the better golfers and better golf are played elsewhere. There was a time when I loved the LPGA and what it stood for but now it's making a mockery of the very game I hold above all others.

Why does the lpga love 20 under par.

I wish someone would explain to me why the LPGA loves to make these courses so easy that player who don't shoot 5 or 6 under par om them lose ground to the field. Do they think the fans like it better? Do they think the golfers like it better? Who does it help?

You know when players like Jehaee Lee (9 handicap) shoot +1 for 36 holes that you are playing on not only a terribly easy but also very short course. They billed the Navistar at around 6,200 yards well maybe from the back tee's and they didn't play any back tee's. A Caddie who regularly talks with me before events and scours the course prior with a range finder says the course isn't even 6,000 yards and plays less than it is. Now the LPGA sets the course up the way they want and for the type of conditions they expect and to make for an exciting event but the Navistar is nothing more than a putting contest.

If you favorite LPGA player is not -8 by the end of this tournament then they are very marginal and should have their professional tour status. Their are a thousand club pro's out there and way more amateurs who could shoot -8 on this course in four rounds and think they didn't play well. Did you know there are players on the LPGA who haven't shot a single round under par for the entire season not just this tournament. Please tell me how these golfers enhance the value and appeal of the tour to sponsors. No I love the LPGA but at the rate they are going we will not have it much longer and our ladies will have to compete in Europe or Asia. I would hate for that to happend but the continued bungling by the board of directors and those making the decisions is just killing it.

Alexis Thompson is a very good golfer. Alexis Thompson is 14. She is not a great athlete nor is she a super phenom! She is however, a little girl. A little girl, who is leading a so called "pro golf tournament". The truth is she won't win but she is making a mockery of the LPGA. You see, the LPGA bills it self as being the "Elite Womens Golf Tour" when it is really a somewhat poorly run, poorly managed, disorganized, organization trying to stay afloat.

History tells us that in poor economic times, High Quality items always sufferer the least. Mercedes Benz, The PGA Tour, Rolex, Blackberry, and a few others who offer the highest quality to their customer. You see, If you by the best you will never be disappointed!The LPGA refuses to allow the best golfers to compete. You see they have all kind of restrictions keeping great golfers from getting into their tournaments but very few for getting rid of poor golfers.

Alexis Thompson is lucky to be able to have the opportunity. She is a legitimate world class player as is Amanda Blumenhurst,Mina Harigae, Jean Reynolds
and many others both amateurs and professionals. They are seldom allowed to compete with the world class players because of LPGA rules. Dorothy Delasin (who would have a 10 handicap) plays in every event. Now how can you carry a 10 handicap and be allowed to compete exempt week in and week out or for that matter even be able to say your a professional golfer? She has not made a single cut this year yet she is exempt in to all tournaments with the exception of the performance based events like the Samsung. Now if I were struggling in tougher economic times I would certainly look at the quality of product I was trying to sell to my customers. The LPGA seems to think otherwise. They think it's good that a little girl is better than 90% of their members. You won't see this on the PGA tour ever. Those players would never allow a little boy to beat them. Sure on occassion amateurs have done well in PGA events but they were accomplished golfers with extensive backrounds not little boy's. They don't just allow anyone who has ever played in a PGA event to bump the best players from events. Look at the scoreboard from this weeks LPGA event and ask yourself how many of these women should really be in this even when there areso many better golfers all over the country who deserve the opportunity to play. If this were the case the quality of the LPGA would be so much better and they wouldn't have to worry about their future in times like these.

I propose at top 20-30 exemption! The top 20-30 players on the money list qualify for next week automatic. The rest have to qualify on the same or similar courses as the one the event will be held on. This insures you getting the best players week in and week out and gives the best players and opportunity to break into the Low Performance Golf Association.

Well interesting enough I can't select Amanda Blumenherst this week because she didn't get in the Tournament after placing T5 at the CVS. I thought if you placed top 10 you automatically were in for next week. AHHH but alas this is the LPGA land where good golf is not what gets rewarded. You see Dorothy Delasin go in and Jeehae Lee got in and they both have double digit handicaps (lee May be a 9). What idiot is allowing this to happen? It's common sense and even as an acting commissioner you would have to be a total bozo not to see how utterly stupid this is.

So I can't pick Shin, Petterson is hurting, no Blumenherest. Ok Shortish course in the south comfortable weather. I'm picking Ochoa to win and Yani Tseng to take second. I'm also predicting that 19 yr. old Alexis Thompson just crushed Delasin, Jeehae Lee and Leah Wigger none of these "PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS" will be withing 5 shots of her after 36 holes.

Based on what has happened thus far on the LPGA tour this is how the events will unfold today at the CVS. Lorena Ochoa will run away with this but not because she played well but because Sophie Gustafson will play poorly. Sun Young Yoo is the biggest threat to Ochoa and she is 6 shots away. Maria Hjorth has not put four rounds together yet this yeas so she and Leta Lindley are both going over par today. Now Moragn, CK and Vicki Hurst, I expect to play well and post a decent score to be solidly in the top ten. Paula Creamer will start to go low but as soon as the pressure starts to build she will fold like a pup tent which has been her MO all year.

LPGA GOLFERS Help me out here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if your a Professional, Golfer more specifically, a female professional golfer is there really no competition between players. Because, I have to tell you, that there is not a sport weather it be golf' or tennis' or basketball' where if I was a professional I would allow a 13 year old amateur to beat me. It's unthinkable to me that a little girl who goes to junior high school all day and practices a little in evening after school could beat me if this were my livelihood.

I would certainly take offense if I was one of the 24 "Professional Golfers" who accept sponsorship money for clothes and bags and have their clubs tweaked regularly to their exact specs and just got beat, some you, crushed by a 13 year old girl who plays for fun.

This never happens on the men's tour the amateurs who do get to play have proven they are capable by winning a national events etc. Not 13 year olds who haven't
done anything but be little girls.

It's getting out of hand when Pro Golfers who are supposed to the horses that carry the LPGA can't even beat a bunch of part time golfers to get into arguably the biggest tournament in the world the US Open. Natalie Gulbis was angry that she had to play the qualifier to get in. even crying. but the fact is she was not good enough neither was Michelle Wie that week. IF GOLF IS "WHAT YOU DO" and essentially"Who you are" how are you not able to beat part time players ona familiar layout you have practiced on?

I for one think there way to many poor players on the LPGA tour. Look at Dorothy Delasin she is carrying about a 10 handicap! Jeehae lee is around a 8 or nine and the same for Michelle Mcgann but week after week there they are in tournament after tournament stealing spots from much better golfers. This is no way to improve your tour. Having the top 30 get in exempt from qualifying is a good way to go and making the rest of the field qualify on the same course will insure a much high quality of golf.
